Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s awards second-annual Coach of the Year Award

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department along with Legends Bank awarded the Legends Award – Coach of the Year Award to Clarksville High School wrestling coach, Jeff Jordan last night at the second-annual Legends Award Coaches’ Banquet held at William O. Beach Civic Hall in Veterans Plaza.

Coach Jordan was among six finalists in the running for Coach of the Year. Each coach was nominated by someone in the community for their hard work and dedication to not only their players but also to the coaching community.

The Coaches’ Banquet also honored “Old School Coaches” in the community who had retired or passed away, yet still have had a large impact on the Clarksville athletic community.

Finalists in each category are as follows:

Old School Coach

• Richard “Dick” Hardwick, former Montgomery Central High School Basketball & Baseball Coach
• Clarence Kendrick, former Northwest and Clarksville Academy Basketball & Baseball Coach
• Chuck Babcock, former Northwest and Kenwood High School Track Coach
• Mickey Fisher, former Fort Campbell High School Basketball Coach
• John Earl “Soapy” Haynes, former Little League Baseball Coach

Coach of the Year

• Mackel Reagan, Clarksville Budo Club
• Chris Beasley, SSF Submission Academy
• Isaac Shelby, Northeast High School Football
• Donny Caver, Northwest Little League
• Mike Blackwell, Clarksville National Girls Softball
