Change to Urgent Care check in paves way for renovations at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital

Blanchfield Army Hospital - Fort Campbell KYFort Campbell, KY – To allow for upcoming renovations to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital’s (BACH) Department of Emergency Medicine, all patients seeking emergency or urgent care at BACH will need to check in at the Emergency Center Registration Desk.

Beginning April 25th, patients who visit the Urgent Care Center will be asked to check in at the Emergency Center Registration Desk. Patients will not be able to check in directly at the Urgent Care Center as of April 25th.

“Changing the process in which patients’ check in will help us improve patient flow and ensure patient safety as staff prepares for construction, which is expected to begin this summer,” said Department of Emergency Medicine chief Maj. Gary Eberly.

After checking in at the Emergency Center Registration Desk, patients will be then medically assessed, or triaged. A triage nurse will determine the priority of patient treatments based on the severity of their condition.

The triage nurse will then direct patients to the most appropriate location for their care, either the Emergency Center, the Urgent Care Center or redirected to their primary care clinic or a soldier health clinic.
