Brentwood, TN – Austin Peay State University’s February 21st men’s basketball contest at Murray State will be one of seven Ohio Valley Conference contests to air exclusively on CBS Sports Network this season.
The Govs-Racers contest, called the OVC’s Best Rivalry on many fronts, will be a 1:00pm contest at CFSB Center. Last season’s Governors-Racers game in Clarksville, January 31st, also was telecast by the CBS Sports Network. More than 4,000 spectators watched the contest. After televising four OVC contests a year ago, CBS Sports Network is doing seven this season, bringing the total number of OVC games on national television to 14, including seven on the ESPN Family of Networks.
It marks the biggest national television package the league has ever produced and includes at least one national television appearance for each of the league’s 12 member institutions.
“This expanded national television package is emblematic of the progress we have achieved as a league and also essential to the progress we continue to make,” said OVC Commissioner Beth DeBauche. “We are thrilled with the increased exposure so that the nation can become familiar with our student-athletes and our quality level of play.”
