Clarksville, TN – As this year’s Relay For Life campaign effort approaches its close and final plans for the culminating event are almost complete, the public is invited to participate. As we continue our efforts to “Finish the Fight” in the cure for all forms of cancer, we recognize that there are many in the community who will lose the battle and succumb to the fight with cancer.
In the midst of the celebration and festivities that will take place during the Relay For Life event on May 20th, it is also a time dedicated to reflection and healing, to commemorate those who courageously fought but lost the battle in their fight with cancer. The Luminaria Ceremony is the time during which we remember these loved ones, that we recognize their courage and honor their memory, during which a luminaria candle will be lit for each loved one’s name recited.
We invite the community to join us in this unforgettable ceremonial experience, a time of reflection and healing for the many left behind. It is during this time that we unite as a community for a cause that touches all of our lives in one way or another.
With a small donation of $10.00, your loved ones can be commemorated during this heartfelt experience. Funds raised during this ceremony (and other activities) at Relay enables the American Cancer Society to deliver on its mission of helping people stay well, helping people get well, finding cures and fighting back against the disease.
For your convenience, you may complete the form provided and submit it to our local Leadership Team contact: Joy Roberts, 213 McAdoo Creek Road, Clarksville, TN 37043.
