APSU Soccer battles Eastern Kentucky to 1-1 draw

APSU Soccer - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University Soccer earned a hard fought draw 1-1 against Eastern Kentucky in opening Ohio Valley Conference play on the road.

The first half was a back and forth match with the Govs defense being tested early by Eastern Kentucky’s (3-3-2) six corner kicks.

Austin Peay State University Men’s Golf plays in EKU Intercollegiate this weekend

APSU Men's GolfClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s golf swiftly returns to action this weekend at the EKU Intercollegiate at the University Club at Arlington in Richmond, Kentucky after improving each round earlier this week at the season-opening Murray State Invitational, .

The two-day event begins 8:30am (ET), Saturday, with a shotgun start and 36 holes, followed by another 8:30am (ET) shotgun start for the final 18 holes, Sunday.

Tennessee Highway Patrol gives Tips to Protect Your Identity

 

Tennessee Highway Patrol - THPNashville, TN – Equifax, one of the nation’s three main credit bureaus suffered a data breach from mid-May through July 2017, exposing 143 million U.S. customer’s personal information such as names, birth dates, social security numbers, addresses, and in some cases driver’s license numbers and credit card numbers.

Tennessee TitansNashville, TN – The Tennessee Titans (0-1) travel to face the AFC South Rival Jacksonville Jaguars (1-0) this week. Kickoff at EverBank Field (capacity 64,428) is scheduled for 1:00pm EDT/noon CDT on Sunday, September 17th, 2017.

The Titans and Jaguars have split their annual series in each of the last eight seasons (2009–2016). In 2016, the Titans won the first matchup at Nissan Stadium, only to suffer a loss in Jacksonville in Week 16 that extinguished their playoff hopes.

Tennessee Department of Education reports High School Graduation Rate Highest on Record

 

Tennessee Department of EducationNashville, TN – Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam and Education Commissioner Candice McQueen announced today that the 2016-17 graduation rate of 89.1 percent is the highest on record for Tennessee.

The statewide graduation rate is up more than half a percentage point since last year, and overall it has increased 3.6 percent since the 2010-11 school year. This year, graduation rates increased in nearly 56 percent of districts with high schools.

APSU FootballClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University athletics department has released the official map for Tailgate Alley in preparation for the home opener against Morehead State at 6:00pm, Saturday at Fortera Stadium.

Fans can begin setting up at 9:00am with tailgating officially beginning at 12:00pm located off Drane Street in the parking rows adjacent to Cheryl Holt Field.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library to hold Superhero Program, Saturday

 

Clarksville-Montgomery County Public LibraryMontgomery County, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library will be having a Superhero Program this Saturday, September 16th from 2:00pm to 3:00pm.

This is a fun-filled program for families with children of all ages. The program will feature story times, games, and crafts.

Brad Nessler (play-by-play) and Gary Danielson (analyst) will be in the booth and Allie LaForce will report from the sidelines. Vol Network radio affiliates will have a live audio broadcast with Bob Kesling, Tim Priest and Brent Hubbs. Sirius Channel 138 and XM Channel 191 will also carry a live audio broadcast.

Hurricane Irma has affected some road conditions in Florida. Fans planning to attend the game in Gainesville should plan ahead and stay up to date with news from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
