Clarksville Police reports Man Falls Out of the Back of a Pickup Truck

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police report a little after midnight, a 19 year old man was found laying on the 101st Airborne Division Parkway roadway between Fort Campbell Boulevard and Jordan Road. Police found him in the roadway, alone, after a couple of passerbys had called the 911 center.

The 19 year old was taken by Lifeflight to a Nashville hospital in critical condition; the man had road rash but no indicators of an assault. At that time, what had happened and the man’s identity were unknown.

Crash Investigator Larry Harris was able to unravel the mystery.

The 19 year old had been at a party, at an unknown location, had been drinking, and was unable to get home. So, another man put the 19 year old in the bed of a Dodge Ram 2500 to take him home.

At some point, unknown to driver of the pickup and for an unknown reason, the 19 year old exited the back of the truck onto the roadway. A short time later, when the pickup driver discovered the 19 year old was not in back of the truck, police were contacted and the investigator was able to put all of the pieces of the puzzle together and determine what happened.

The pickup driver did not have any indicators of being intoxicated. The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed.

The investigator is Officer Larry Harris.
