Clarksville, Tn –– Austin Peay State University men’s cross country team is set to host the 2019 APSU Cross Country Festival with the men’s five-kilometer race at 9:00am., Saturday, on the Eastland Green South Nine course.
Austin Peay will host a number of colleges from the Tennessee and regionally. Participants from the 2018 home meet includes OVC foe Tennessee State and Evansville as well as Lawson State, Bethel (Tenn.), Rust, LeMoyne-Owen, and Lane will also join the Govs in the home meet.Last time the Govs hosted their home meet they finished first and had four Governors finish among the top ten, individually. The Govs are looking to repeat in similar fashion.
Thomas Porter intends on leading the Govs and posting another top-five finish just as last year. Nash Young and Daniel Davis look to continue their hot starts and work for another top-15 finish for the Govs. Hezron Kiptoo finished seventh at the Govs’ home meet in 2018 and looks to post another great finish at home. Meanwhile, newcomers Elliott Reed, Ryan Martin, and William Norris will make their first home meet appearances.
