APSU Men’s Tennis Opens Brian Coons Tournament With Five Wins

APSU Men's TennisClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University (APSU) men’s tennis team earned five wins in a pair of dual-styled matches on its first day of the Brian Coons Fall Tournament, Friday, at the Governors Tennis Courts. 

The Governors opened its annual fall tournament with a clean sweep of doubles wins against Alabama A&M. Lucas Ranciaro and Felipe De La Hormaza’s match went to a tiebreaker.  

Logan Tomovski and Rohan Loubser defeated Mattheus Guardieri and Carlos Morilllas in a 6-2 win. Glen Arnet and Vincent Lu took the win against Arne Sohmer and Raphael Lee in a 6-4 match. Ranciaro and De La Hormaza took care of business with Elisey Kalashnikov and Sanad Bouhlel in a 7-5 win.  

The Governors faced the Bulldogs again in singles matchups. Glen Arnet won the match against Moreira in two sets with the first set boasting a 6-3 win and the second set 7-5. De La achieved a win against their opponent, Andreta with a 6-3 win and a 6-4 win. Players Loubser, Lu, and Tomovski, lost in their singles competitions.  

Austin Peay State University concluded the day with doubles matches against the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles. Loubser and Arnet, as well as Lu and Ranciaro were defeated by their opponents in a 6-3 sets. De La Hormaza and Tomovski fell 7-5.
