It was the final game of the 2007 season. The Governors seemingly had the road contest in hand, leading 17-10 at Murray State late into the fourth quarter after forcing eight turnovers. But the Racers avoided mistakes for one of the few times all day and drove 80 yards to tie the game with a little more than two minutes left. The home team certainly would have the momentum if overtime occurred, especially with some of the Govs’ offensive personnel hampered by injury.

Longtime APSU Govs supporter Bill Roberts passes away at 63APSU Sports Information
Since moving to Clarksville from Massachusetts in the mid-1990s, Roberts has been a community pillar and an active supporter of all things Austin Peay. A member of the Red Coat Society—Austin Peay’s Hall of Fame for service to APSU athletics—Roberts was instrumental in the group’s foundation and was inducted in 2007 alongside Billy Atkins and the late Dr. Gaines Hunt.

Longtime APSU Athletics supporter Lawrence Baggett to receive 2017 OVC Thurston Banks AwardAPSU Sports Information
The award, selected by the OVC Faculty Athletics Representatives (FARs), was established in 2013 to recognize individuals (e.g. academic advisor, professor, tutor, etc.), with at least five years of service at one or more OVC member institutions, for their outstanding contributions to OVC student-athletes’ academic success, learning and development as well for his or her overall commitment to the institution’s athletics program.
