Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club announced its full promotional schedule for the 2017 season. The 71-game home schedule at First Tennessee Park features bobblehead and t-shirt giveaways, theme nights, special guest appearances and 14 musically-themed fireworks shows.
Dueling pianos presented by First Tennessee take center stage on Opening Day when the Sounds welcome the Oklahoma City Dodgers on Tuesday, April 11th. The Opening Day festivities include the first post-game fireworks show of the season.
Nashville, TN – The first-place Nashville Sounds begin the final homestand of the regular season Monday when they welcome the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs – the Iowa Cubs – to First Tennessee Park for a four-game series.
The Sounds’ clinched the American Southern Division with it’s win over the Memphis Redbirds Friday night at AutoZone Park.

Left-Hander Tossed First Career Complete Game
Nashville, TN – Nashville Sounds pitcher Dillon Overton has been named Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week for his performance from April 18th-24th, the league announced today.
The left-hander started one game during the week and turned in his first career complete game in Nashville’s 8-1 win over Colorado Springs on April 20th.
Pitching in game two of a doubleheader this past Wednesday, Overton went all seven innings and allowed one run on five hits. He didn’t walk a batter and struck out five.

Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club is pleased to announce its full promotions schedule for the 2016 season. The 72-game home schedule includes ticket discounts, special guest appearances, theme nights, day-game parties, throwback jerseys, family days and 14 fireworks shows.
It all starts with a bang on Opening Day at First Tennessee Park on Thursday, April 7th when the Sounds open the season against Oklahoma City at 6:35pm. The night will feature post-game fireworks and a ballpark aerial photo exit giveaway to 10,000 fans presented by First Tennessee Bank.
Jake Sanchez Earns First Triple-A Win, Barry Zito Returns
Papillion, NB – A 95-minute rain delay could not cool off the Nashville Sounds red-hot bats as they cruised to a 8-3 victory over Omaha at Werner Park on Sunday night.
The top of the Sounds order carried the load in this one as Craig Gentry, Joey Wendle and Brent Morel went a combined 6-for-12 on the night with five RBIs and five runs. Gentry began the game with a single to extend his road on-base streak to 31 games and then scored on a triple by Wendle.
Veteran Led League In Total Bases, Slugging While Batting .360 In Six Games
Nashville, TN – Nashville Sounds utilityman Ryan Roberts has been named the Pacific Coast League’s Player of the Week for the August 3rd-9th period.
The 34-year-old batted .360 (9-for-25) with four home runs, eight RBIs, and a league-best 24 total bases and .960 slugging percentage in six games during the past week to earn the honor.
Roberts’ best effort of the week came on August 4th at the Omaha Storm Chasers, when he went 3-for-5 with four RBIs and two home runs, including a go-ahead roundtripper in the top of the 12th inning to lead Nashville to an 8-6 victory.
Barry Zito Hurls Six One-Hit Innings
Nashville, TN – Trailing 3-0, the Nashville Sounds scored eight unanswered runs, defeating Memphis 8-3 at First Tennessee Park on Thursday night at First Tennessee Park.
The contest was the completion from a suspended game from the night before. The two teams got through a half-inning of action on Wednesday before rain ended play. In that half-inning on Wednesday, Sounds starter Nate Long was responsible for giving up three runs on two hits, struggling with his control, walking three batters in the frame.
Nashville, TN – Wednesday night’s game between the Nashville Sounds and Memphis Redbirds at First Tennessee Park has been suspended due to rain. The game will be made up on Thursday as part of a doubleheader that will begin at 6:05pm.
The second game will follow approximately 30 minutes from the end of the first game and will be a seven-inning contest. The Redbirds will turn to top prospect Marco Gonzalez (0-2, 6.13) in the latter game, while the Sounds will give the ball to Barry Zito (7-7, 3.64).
Barry Zito Throws Six Innings Of One-Run Ball For Seventh Win
Papillion, NE – The Sounds started the month of August on a high note, controlling Saturday night’s series opener from the beginning and dominating the Omaha Storm Chasers with a 9-4 win at Werner Park.
Nashville started the hit party with three runs out of the gate. Craig Gentry and Joey Wendle hit back-to-back singles and Ryan Roberts made the Storm Chasers pay. The left fielder watched one strike breeze by him before launching his fifth home run of the season. Roberts finished with a pair of hits and two runs, reaching base three different times.
Rehabbing Switch-Pitcher Pat Venditte Throws Scoreless Inning
Nashville, TN – The Nashville bullpen shut Iowa out for four innings, but the Cubs rode their early lead and took the series finale on Friday night at First Tennessee Park with a 5-2 win.
Nashville tied a season high by working eight walks while the pitching staff added 13 strikeouts in the Friday night contest. It was the third time this season that the Sounds have dropped three of four from Iowa in a series.
The Cubs rolled out a pair of runs off starter Nathan Long in the first inning. Rubi Silva was the culprit, putting a well placed liner into the visiting bullpen for a two-run triple. Matt Szczur and Javy Baez plated on the extra-base hit, but Long concluded the frame by striking out the side.
