Austin Peay State University announces 2019 Candlelight Ball Award winners

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Earlier this year, the Austin Peay State University Office of Alumni Relations announced the recipients of the 2019 Candlelight Ball Awards.

The Wendell H. Gilbert Award will go to Dr. Jeannie Beauchamp, who established Clarksville Pediatric Dentistry in 1999, and the Spirit of Austin Peay Award will go to Len Rye, a residential contractor who specializes in custom homes.

Plenty of entertainment surrounds APSU Baseball weekend

APSU Baseball - Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Fans attending any of Austin Peay State University’s baseball games this weekend against Belmont will have plenty of entertainment besides the action on the field. The Austin Peay athletics department has several pregame, in-game and postgame promotions in store for each game of the three-game series.

The entertainment begins before the 6:00pm, Friday series opener with free Govs monocles to the first 100 fans through the game.

Clarksville National hosts Home-Run Derby and Pizza Party to kick off 2014 Tournament

 

Little League BaseballClarksville, TN – Friday night, the Clarksville Nationals Little League team hosted a meet and greet and home run Derby for the 10 teams that were competing in the 12-year-olds State Little League Tournament. There are 10 teams in the tournament including Clarksville National, and Clarksville Northwest.

The players and their families had the opportunity to enjoy pizzas and soda, before getting down to business of home runs, in the Home Run Derby.

Clarksville National Little League Early Registration

 

Little League BaseballClarksville, TN – Clarksville National Little League will be doing early registrations on February 18th and 19th at Page’s Sporting Goods. Registration will be from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.

Page’s Sporting Goods is located at 1015 South Riverside Drive.

Greenville beat Spring Hill 8-7 to become the Junior Baseball (13-14) Tennessee State Champions

Little League BaseballClarksville, TN – The 2012 State Junior (13-14) Baseball Tournament Championship game was played Saturday afternoon, July 28th at the Clarksville National Fields between Spring Hill and Greenville. The game started at 5:00pm.

Greenville got things started in the bottom of the 1st inning when Lincoln Bowman hit a single between short and third scoring Zane Britton making the score 1-0.

Greenville is the 2012 Junior Baseball (13-14) Tennessee State Champions.

Clarksville National 7-8 year old Blue team wins State Tournament

 

Little League BaseballTullahoma, TN – The Clarksville National Blue team won the 2012 State Junior (7-8) Baseball Tournament held in Tullahoma, Tennessee the week of July 15th-19th. The team went 5-0 in winning the district 9 tournament one week prior.

In the state tournament, the Big Blue won their first 2 games against Maryville and Hartsville. In the third game, the team fell to Carter County in a tight 4-3 game. They re-grouped and defeated the home team from Tullahoma 13-5 to advance to the championship round against Carter County.

Having to beat Carter County twice to claim the title, the bats stayed hot and Clarksville rolled 11-3 in the first game and 10-4 in the championship game.

Spring Hill moves on to play Greenville for the State Junior (13-14) Baseball Championship

Little League BaseballClarksville, TN – The 2012 State Junior (13-14) Baseball Tournament continued Friday night, July 27th at the Clarksville National Fields. The first game started at 6:00pm. It was the continuance of the Thursday night game between Goodlettsville and Spring Hill that was postponed due to rain.

Clarksville National Little League Fall Sign Ups

 

Little League BaseballClarksville, TN – It’s almost time for Fall Ball! Clarksville National Little League fall sign ups  will be August 9th from from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Page’s Clarksville Sporting Goods on Riverside Drive.

Sign ups will also be held Saturday August 11th and Sunday August 12th at the Clarksville National Baseball field.

Clarksville National Little League fields are located at 408 Gaylewood Drive, Clarksville behind Barksdale Elementary School.

Greenville gets win Thursday night in the State Junior (13-14) Baseball Tournament; Second game postponed due to Rain

 

Clarksville National Little League is hosting the 2012 State Junior (13-14) Baseball Tournament

Little League BaseballClarksville, TN – The 2012 State Junior (13-14) Baseball Tournament continued Thursday night, July 26th at the Clarksville National Fields. Smith County took on Greenville in the 6:00pm game. Greenville won the hard fought match 6-2.

The second game of the night featured Goodlettsville against Spring Hill. The game was postponed due to rain at the top of the third inning with one pitch thrown. The score was tied at zero. The game will pick up where it left off Friday night at 6:00pm.

Greenville played Smith County Thursday night in the State Junior (13-14) Baseball Tournament.

Little League BaseballClarksville, TN – The 2012 State Junior (13-14) Baseball Tournament was in full swing Wednesday night, July 25th at the Clarksville National Fields. The 6:00pm game featured Grainger County and Spring Hill. Spring Hill won the game 13-0 in five innings of play.
