Clarksville, TN – After a week of weather delays, and the Region 5-AAA Basketball Tournament looming, the District 10-AAA Basketball Tournament championship and consolation games have been cancelled.
With the cancellation, Rossview High School girls basketball team will be declared the tournament champions, followed by Henry County High School, Clarksville High School and West Creek High finishing second through fourth place.
Four Clarksville High Lady Wildcats reach double figures in rolling past Springfield Yellow Jackets 60-38
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville High School’s girls basketball team used a balanced scoring attack Tuesday, February 3rd at William Workman Gymnasium, placing four players into double figures on its way to defeating Springfield High School 60-38 in a District 10-AAA matchup.
The Lady Wildcats (17-9, 11-2 District 10-AAA) took control of the game quickly, picking up a couple early 3s from Ellie Treanton and Hannah Goins to get out to a 8-2 lead 2:08 into the game.
Goins would finish with 12 points, while Treanton chipped in with 10 points for CHS.
Clarksville High Wildcats edge Springfield Yellow Jackets 45-44 to lock up first-round district tournament home game
Clarksville, TN – Tyriek Cheatham’s free throw with 24.2 seconds left Tuesday, February 3rd at William Workman Gymnasium, proved to be the difference for Clarksville High School as the Wildcats edged Springfield High School 45-44 and lock up a first-round home game in next week’s District 10-AAA Tournament.
Clarksville High (11-11, 8-5 District 10-AAA), along with Springfield and Northeast High School, entered the night tied for third in the district standings, but the Wildcats victory over the Yellow Jackets earned CHS the tie-breaker over Springfield – having swept the season series — and guaranteeing no worse than a fourth-place finish in 10-AAA.
Northwest High Baseball takes advantage of West Creek Coyotes errors to advance in 10-AAA Tournament
Clarksville, TN – Northwest High School’s baseball team took advantage of five West Creek High School errors, May 5th in the losers’ bracket of the District 10-AAA tournament at Clarksville High School’s baseball field, to score eight unearned runs in defeating the Coyotes, 8-6.
The Vikings (7-25) will advance to the 4:30pm May 6th losers’ bracket finals to face Henry County High School, who lost to Clarksville High School on May 5th, 14-4, while West Creek (14-19) sees its season come to an end.
Clarksville, TN – Kenwood High School’s Daniel Norl knocked down a 10-foot jumper with 2.6 seconds left, February 18th at Rossview high School, to lift the Knights to a District 10-AAA tournament title for the second time in the school’s history, 57-55, over Henry County High School.
Even with the go-ahead basket by Norl, Henry County still had a final chance at a tie or winning bucket after calling their final timeout with two seconds left and needed to travel the length of the court.
Mo Pressley leads West Creek High School past Springfield in Consolation Game of the District 10-AAA Tournament
Clarksville, TN – West Creek High School’s Mo Pressley scored 13 of his game-high 19 points in the third quarter, February 18th at Rossview High School, to lead the Coyotes past the Springfield Yellowjackets 54-42 to take the consolation game of the District 10-AAA tournament.
Both teams will advance to the Region 5-AAA tournament, February 22nd, with Springfield traveling to Mt. Juliet High School and West Creek heading to Hendersonville play Beech High School.
Clarksville, TN – Senior Daniel Norl scored seven straight points in the third quarter, February 14th in the opening round of the District 10-AAA tournament, to rally top-seeded Kenwood High School past a stubborn Clarksville High squad, 57-44.
Kenwood (22-5), ranked 10th in the state’s Associated Press Poll in Class AAA, led 27-20 at halftime, but saw Clarksville High explode out of intermission by going on a 13-0 run – over the first 2:20 of the second half – to take the lead from the Knights, 33-27.
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville High School’s girls soccer team sent its five seniors out in grand fashion, October 8th at Hilda J. Richardson Field on Senior Night, as the Lady Wildcats exploded for seven goals in a span of 13 minutes in the first half on its way to a 10-0 District 10-AAA victory over Springfield High School.
The 10 goals tied a season high for Clarksville High (14-2-2, 7-0-0 District 10-AAA), with the Lady Wildcats also scoring 10 goals against Northwest High School on September 3rd.
Clarksville High School Volleyball advances to District 10-AAA Semifinals with win over Kenwood High School
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville High School’s volleyball team earned a spot in the semifinal round of the District 10-AAA Tournament, October 3rd, as they defeated Kenwood High School 3-0, by scores of 25-17, 25-17, 25-14.
The Lady Wildcats (11-4) will next face the winner of the Henry County High School-West Creek High School quarterfinal match – which was also played on October 3rd.
Clarksville High School Girls Basketball clinches fourth-straight District 10-AAA Tournament title, downs Rossview High School
Clarksville, TN – The four fingers the members of a smiling Clarksville High School Girls Basketball team were holding up after the 64-29 victory over Rossview High School in the District 10-AAA Tournament Championship Game at Northeast High School said it all and now they hope it’s the first step to winning a State Championship.
