Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUBirmingham, AL – Austin Peay State University’s softball team was swept in a doubleheader, Wednesday, by former Ohio Valley Conference member Samford University, 11-1 and 6-5.

It was the first meeting between the two programs since March 2008, when the Bulldogs were still an OVC member.

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team dropped the rubber game of its three-game weekend series to IUPUI, Sunday at Cheryl Holt Field, 10-1 in five innings.

The Lady Govs (2-6) fell behind quickly, despite getting the first two outs in the top of the first inning, with the Jaguars (4-4) stringing together three straight hits against Lady Govs starter Lauren de Castro.

Austin Peay State University has 174 student athletes named to Fall honor roll

 

APSU - Austin Peay State University SportsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s 331 student-athletes posted a 2.944 grade-point average during the recently completed Fall 2013 semester, the athletics department announced Tuesday.

The 2.944 cumulative GPA accumulated by the department’s student-athletes was the fourth-best mark in program history. It also is the third consecutive semester the group posted a 2.90 GPA or better.

Instant Peay Play: Practice opens for APSU Lady Govs softball with regular season less than three weeks away

APSU Lady Govs Softball beat Volunteer State 8-2 to finish Fall Schedule

 

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team was only able to get one of its scheduled two games in with Volunteer State Community College before the rains came, October 2nd at Cheryl Holt Field, but the Lady Govs made the most of the game they did get in by collecting 13 hits in an 8-2 victory.

With the win, the Lady Govs finish their fall schedule with a perfect 6-0 mark in which they outscored their opponents 54 to 11.

APSU Lady Govs Softball sweeps Dyersburg State to wrap up 3-0 weekend

 

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team wrapped up its opening weekend of fall play, September 22nd at Cheryl Holt Field, by pounding out 26 hits in a doubleheader sweep of Dyersburg State Community College, by finals of 11-0 and 10-2.

The wins improve the Lady Govs to 3-0 so far this fall, having also picked up a 7-4 win against Rend Lake (IL) Community College September 20th.

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs Softball brings in big Summer Class

 

Austin Peay State University Lady Govs - APSUClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University head softball coach Stephanie Paris is pleased to announce the addition of eight student-athletes set to join the Lady Govs roster in Fall 2013, bringing her total signing class to 12 players.

“We really hit the pavement looking for players,” said Paris. “We got a couple of last-minute finds that will help us tremendously, especially offensively.”
