Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The 2019 September-December Clarksville Parks and Recreation Activity Guide is now available, offering details about more than 100 programs and events, a detailed map showing all 48 of the department’s parks, trails and facilities, and information about rentals for private functions.

The guide also offers information about more than 20 new events and programs from September to December in the City’s parks, recreation centers and pools and includes information about current and upcoming park projects and improvements.

Friends of Fort Defiance to hold “March To The Past” on Saturday, May 4th

 

Friends of Fort DefianceClarksville, TN – On Saturday, May 4th, 2019, the Friends of Fort Defiance will host their annual March To The Past living history event at Fort Defiance in Clarksville from 10:00am to 3:00pm.

Live cannon demonstrations, 19th-century music performed by a Cumberland Winds ensemble, period reenactors, and numerous displays and presenters will all be part of this big event.

Numerous exhibits on civilian and military life in the 19th century, artillery demonstrations and more at Clarksville’s historic Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center.

Friends of Fort Defiance will host free presentation

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Dennis Pulley will present a session about “Leather Tanning” at 1:00pm Saturday, August 19th, 2017 at Clarksville’s Fort Defiance Civil War Park as part of an educational series, Life in the 1800s.

Visitors will be able to view and learn about leather tanning techniques from the 19th century, including information about types of leather and tools used during the tanning process.

19th Century Music will be Performed by Marlin Rood Band at Clarksville’s Historic Fort Defiance.

Popular 19th century music will be performed on authentic period instruments.
