Rain forces cancellation of final round of Chris Banister Golf Classic

Huntsville, AL – Rain proved the eventual winner of the Chris Banister Golf Classic, played at Hampton Cove’s Highland Course.
After the tourney’s second round was cancelled because of rains, round three fell to the same fate. The rainfall, serving as remnants of Tropical Storm Lee, again forced cancellation of Tuesday’s final round. «Read the rest of this article»

Huntsville, AL – Rain was the winner, Monday, in Day 2 of the Chris Banister Golf Classic, being played at Hampton Cove’s Highland Course.
Heavy overnight rains, remnants of Tropical Storm Lee, turned into morning showers in Huntsville, resulting in nearly eight total inches of rain in some areas of North Alabama.

Huntsville, AL – Rain and more rain greeted Austin Peay State University women’s golf team and the rest of the field in the first round of the Chris Banister Golf Classic, Sunday, being played at Hampton Cove’s Highland Course, a Robert Trent Jones-designed layout.
As a result, the Lady Govs sit in seventh place after the first round following a 331.

Lady Govs golf to open season in JSU-hosted event

Clarksville, TN – A young Austin Peay State University women’s golf team will get an early season start when it travels to Huntsville, AL, to participate in the JSU Chris Banister Golf Classic, Sunday-Tuesday, to be played at Hampton Cove’s Highland Course, a Robert Trent Jones-designed layout.
The tourney normally is played at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Silver Lakes, AL, but that course is still recovering from damage incurred from April’s tornado.
