Clarksville, TN – So, here we are. new year, new decade, new beginnings. What’s next?
I think a lot of us ask that same question.
Resolutions? I don’t make them, because I can’t seem to keep them. I would guess you might be the same.
We all need to be better than we were yesterday, so moving forward, I just try to take it one day at a time. The older I get, the more I realize that if I just get the most out of each day, treating people better than before, pushing myself a little more, and motivating myself to step up my game, then it wears off on the ones I love and the people I meet.
Dallas, TX – The Nashville Predators defeated the Dallas Stars in a highly entertaining game tonight 5-3. Pekka Rinne stood tall in net for the Predators to keep Nashville in this one, giving the boys a chance to win it.
The Predators win the season series against the Stars with the win tonight, in what many feel will be a first round matchup for the Stanley Cup playoffs. The two teams have already been announced as the feature of the Winter Classic.
Brian Boyle continues to show why the Predators made a trade for him just a couple of weeks ago as he lit the lamp first for the Predators at 10:50 of the opening frame. It was Boyle’s second goal for the Predators since joining the team and got Nashville the early lead, 1-0.
Las Vegas, NV– The Las Vegas Golden Knights ran roughshod over the Nashville Predators tonight in sin city, breaking a five game home losing streak with the win, 5-1.
Nashville starting goalie Juuse Saros blocked 45 shots on the night, but Las Vegas attempted the most shots on goal for the season against Nashville with 50.
The Predators thought they had the first goal of the night in the first period when Colton Sissons scored on a breakaway, but the goal was disallowed when Vegas challenged for off side. After the video review, it was determined that Sissons WAS in fact off side, so no goal.
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators finally righted the ship with a 3-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens tonight at Bridgestone Arena.
Newly acquired big man Brian Boyle scored his first goal as a Predator and Viktor Arvidsson added to his torrid scoring streak for the victory.
Arvidsson scored his 24th goal of the season tonight, a remarkable feat considering he was injured and didn’t return to the lineup until New Years Eve. Nashville wrapped up a three game home stand and snapped a three game losing streak tonight with the win.
Denver, CO– The Nashville Predators broke through with a much needed win today in the mile high city of Denver, Colorado, shutting down the Avalanche, 4-1.
Coming off of back to back losses, the Predators stood tall behind the unbelievable play of their Vicenza Trophy winning goalie, Pekka Rinne.
Rinne absolutely shut the Avalanche down in the first period and had it not been for his stellar play, Nashville could have easily been down 5-0.
Head coach Peter Laviolette had commented that he saw a lot of good things in his team over the last couple of games, but they needed to come better prepared to start the first period. Nashville fell behind early in the last two games and couldn’t recover.
Clarksville, TN – Well, we’ve reached another Christmas holiday together and I just wanted to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
It seems like only yesterday when we were all staring at the Christmas tree and counting our blessings last year, but how quickly time flies, and once again we’re grateful to be here, and thankful for family and friends.
I never expected to make so many new friends through this blog and all while traveling on the back of a motorcycle. I’ve heard some incredible stories, and learned some valuable lessons from all of you and I thank you!
Nashville, TN – The Nashville Predators broke their home ice losing streak to defeat the Las Vegas Golden Knights, 4-1, at Bridgestone Arena.
Ryan Hartman led the Preds with his two goal effort, that gave Nashville all they would need on the night.
The Predators had struggled this season at home, where their only three losses had occurred in Nashville. The Predators outshot the Golden Knights, 28-24 on the night.
Reilly Smith scored the first goal of the Knight for Vegas at 17:14 of the first period when his snapshot beat Predators goalie, Juuse Saros on the high side and Vegas led 1-0.
Nashville, TN -The Nashville Predators continue to struggle on home ice, as they lose to the visiting Edmonton Oilers, 5-3, at Bridgestone Arena. All three Nashville losses have come on home ice.
Filip Forsbergs sixth career hat trick couldn’t help the Predators overcome the penalties and an aggressive Edmonton frontline, including NHL superstar, Connor McDavid. This is Nashville’s rirst loss to Edmonton in their past 14 meetings.
The Oilers struck first on a goal from Drake Caggiula to lead 1-0 to end the first period. Then Leon Draisaitl gave Edmonton a 2-0 lead just five minutes into the second period, beating Predators goalie, Juuse Saros.
Clarksville, TN – Every biker wants to ride the legendary Route 66. Many of you have, and if you’re like me, you have it on your bucket list. Two friends of mine recently completed that trek, logging nearly 5,000 miles before they got home.
David Bearden and Matt Moriarty have been friends for nearly 30 years. They’re both veteran bikers who share the love of the open road and plenty of “wind therapy.” They began planning their wild west trip nearly two years ago and like most adventures, it began with a simple, “we should do this.”
Riding along Route 66 was just the beginning of their 3 week adventure. They visited the world’s largest Mcdonalds, the Route 66 Museum, and had dinner at The Big Texan, a legendary steak house.
Nashville Sounds Baseball
Las Vegas, NV – The Nashville Sounds (38-36) never recovered from a four-run inning turned in by the Las Vegas 51s Wednesday night at Cashman Field, dropping their sixth game in a row by an 8-2 final.
Vegas’ big inning came against Sounds starter Taylor Jungmann (2-4) in the 4th. A walk and a pair of singles started the frame for the 51s and gave them the 2-1 advantage. Vegas pitcher Logan Verrett (6-2) helped his own cause with an RBI groundout later in the frame, which was capped off by Omar Quintanilla’s two-run single.
