Greenbelt, MD – On Sunday April 15th, 2018 a line of strong storms at one point stretched from the Florida Straits below the Florida Keys all the way up the East Coast and into Ohio. The Global Precipitation Measurement mission or GPM core satellite analyzed the severe storms as it passed overhead. GPM is a joint mission between NASA and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency, JAXA.
Many of the storms were strong with wide spread reports of wind damage from north Florida up through the Carolinas and into central Virginia.

Lynchburg, VA – For the second time in five days, Austin Peay State University freshman catcher Parker Phillips has earned national recognition, with the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association naming him a Second-Team Freshman All-American, Monday.
Phillips becomes is just the third Austin Peay freshman to earn recognition from the NCBWA, joining catcher Matt Wollenzin (2011) and utility man Alex Robles (2014).

Erbil, Iraq – LSA Strike is named after the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) whose Soldiers comprise Task Force Strike in northern Iraq.
When we first got here, all there was, was gravel.” said 1st Lt. Kalapu Fasavalu, platoon leader in Company C, 39th Brigade Engineer Battalion, Task Force Strike, from Long Beach, California. “There were no facilities set up at all.”
As part of their deployment during Operation Inherent Resolve, Soldiers of Task Force Strike, are moving to many locations throughout Iraq to advise and assist the Iraqi Security Forces.

After Travis Betran’s long three pointer tied the game and the Govs defense denied Liberty at regulation’s end, the Governors year-long free-throw shooting woes caught up with them in overtime as Liberty held off APSU, 79-73, in the ESPN Ramada Worldwide BracketBusters contest at the Vines Center.
