Instant Peay Play: APSU Govs, Lady Govs Basketball have shown promise as preseason ends

 

Legends Bank, Clarksville TNClarksville, TN – After missing out on the postseason the past two years, both Austin Peay State University’s men’s and women’s basketball teams have shown promise with the regular season beginning this week.

The Governors closed out their preseason schedule 2-0 after defeating Bryan College, on November 5th, 63-52 after hammering Webster University 82-48 on November 1st.

Two former Clarksville High School basketball standouts to join Martin Methodist basketball program

 

Martin Methodist RedHawksPulaski, TN  The Martin Methodist College Men’s Basketball Program got a big boost this week as head coach Scott Combs recently announced the signing of Monte Burney and Dajion “Dada” Williams.

The Clarksville, Tennessee natives and former Clarksville High School standouts are expected to bolster a strong RedHawk returning roster that is gearing up for another NAIA national tournament run.

Montgomery Central High School’s Rye chooses to play college golf with Trevecca

 

Clarksville, TN – Montgomery Central senior boys golfer Hunter Rye will be joining the Trevecca University Men’s Golf team next year after signing his Letter of Intent to play for the school Monday morning.

APSU alumnus, actor to speak September 23rd as part of Honors Program Lecture Series

Clarksville, TN – As part of Austin Peay State University’s Honors Program Lecture Series, actor and producer David Alford will speak at 6:00pm, Thursday, September 23rd in the new Honors Commons on the main campus.
 
The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

A native of Adams and alumnus of APSU, Alford studied at the Juilliard School for Drama in New York City. He founded the Mockingbird Theatre in Nashville in 1994 and served as its acting director until 2004. «Read the rest of this article»
