Knoxville, TN – Tennessee Vols basketball freshman Santiago Vescovi logged season-highs with 20 points and eight assists Tuesday as the Vols limited Arkansas to its fewest points in SEC play this season and posted a convincing 82-61 victory on Tuesday night in Thompson-Boling Arena.
Jimmy Whitt Jr. led the Razorbacks with 19 points on the night.
Clarksville, TN – With graduation over and school’s letting out for summer break that can only mean that Austin Peay sport camps are right around the corner.
Beginning in early June and running right up to schools beginning in the fall, several different sports will be holding youth camps over the break, so no matter what your age, skill level or sport desired there is a good chance you can find one that can help you become a better player.
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University held its Spring Commencement ceremonies, May 8th at the Dunn Center, with 43 Governors and Lady Govs athletes not only picking up their respective degrees, but also leaving a legacy of success during their time on campus.
The 42 graduating athletes represented 12 of 14 teams at Austin Peay, with only the women’s cross country and tennis teams not having any team member graduate this spring.
Instant Peay Play: Marco Iten and Breigh Jones reaching NCAA finals highlight Austin Peay State University Athletic Department’s 2014
Clarksville, TN – With the 2014 calendar coming to an end this week, there were several highlights over the past 12 months for the Austin Peay Athletic Department, but topping the list has to be the NCAA Championship appearances by Marco Iten in Men’s golf and Breigh Jones in women’s outdoor track and field.
Iten, a senior, would start his run to the NCAA men’s golf championships by winning Ohio Valley Conference medalist honors by a shot, which earned his a spot in the NCAA Regional in Auburn, AL.
Brentwood, TN – The Ohio Valley Conference announced its slate of Conference games across ESPN platforms for the 2013-14 season on Wednesday.
The schedule includes seven total men’s basketball games (four regular season contests and three OVC Tournament games) that will appear on one of the networks during the season. Each of the regular season games and the OVC Tournament semifinals will air live on ESPNU.
Clarksville, TN – Short in-state trips against major schools University of Memphis and Vanderbilt University balanced against an impressive mid-major corps of opponents will highlight the 2013-14 Austin Peay State University men’s basketball schedule, released July 10th.
Clarksville, TN – In a June 5th press conference in the front lobby of the Dunn Center, the former deputy athletics director and chief operating officer at Central Michigan University Derek van der Mewre was officially named Austin Peay State University’s 12th athletics director.
van der Merwe (pronounced van de meer) was chosen out of the five finalists that were invited for on-campus interviews conducted in late May.
Clarksville, TN – A record 1,222 students were conferred degrees, Friday, as Austin Peay State University held its 84th Spring Commencement in the Dunn Center and 49 of those were Govs and Lady Govs student-athletes.
The morning commencement saw students earn degrees from the College of Arts and Letters, the College of Science and Mathematics and the School of Technology and Public Management will participate in commencement.
Dave Loos stepping down as athletics director at Austin Peay State University marks an end of a rare era

Clarksville, TN – On April 2nd, and on the court that bears his name, Austin Peay State University’s Dave Loos and school President Tim Hall made it official that Loos will be stepping down as athletics director, but continue as the school’s head men’s basketball coach.
Loos will remain as athletics director until a new one is put in place later this spring or early summer.
