Nashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club has named Adam Nuse as the team’s new General Manager, an announcement made this afternoon by Sounds owner Frank Ward.
Nuse comes to Music City from the Bowling Green Hot Rods of the Midwest League, where he served as the General Manager and Chief Operating Officer since January 2014.
“We’re excited to bring a general manager of Adam’s caliber on board,” said Ward. “He is a talented and accomplished executive with a strong sales background and a passion for delivering an outstanding entertainment experience to fans. The Sounds look forward to a bright future under Adam’s leadership.”

Jimmy Nelson and Clint Coulter Named Recipients of the Robin Yount Performance Pitcher and Player of the Year Awards, Respectively
Milwaukee, WI – The Milwaukee Brewers have announced the recipients of the 2014 Robin Yount Performance Awards. Right-handed pitcher Jimmy Nelson was named Brewers Minor League Pitcher of the Year and catcher Clint Coulter was named Brewers Minor League Player of the Year.
Nelson, 25, went 10-2 with a 1.46 ERA in 17 games (16 starts) at Triple-A Nashville, including 114 strikeouts and 32 walks in 111.0 innings. He allowed just three home runs and held opponents to a .179 batting average.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s 12 professional baseball players have largely enjoyed a successful 2014 campaign with their respective clubs.
As the season nears its midpoint, three Govs alumni have been named to their All-Star teams at the minor league level.

Former Nashville Sounds manager Mike Guerrero named Mike Coolbaugh Award winner

Nashville, TN – Minor League Baseball™ announced today that it has selected Mike Guerrero, who managed the Nashville Sounds this season, as the winner of the sixth annual Mike Coolbaugh Award, presented to an individual who has shown an outstanding baseball work ethic, knowledge of the game and skill in mentoring young players on the field. The Coolbaugh Award will be presented during the Baseball Winter Meetings™ Banquet on Thursday, December 12th, at the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort in Orlando, FL.
