Nashville Sounds Foundation accepting 2020 Scholarship applications

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – For the fifth consecutive year, the Nashville Sounds Foundation will award four scholarships worth $2,500 each to graduating high school seniors who plan to attend college in fall of 2020.

The program, which began in 2016, has awarded $40,000 in scholarships and is designed to help deserving Nashville and Middle Tennessee students help pay for college tuition during their freshman year.

“The Nashville Sounds Foundation is proud to continue our scholarship program into its fifth year,” said Nashville Sounds Foundation Executive Director Destiny Whitmore.

Nashville Sounds return to First Tennessee Park for Eight Home Games starting Monday

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – On Monday, April 29th, the Nashville Sounds Baseball team returns home to First Tennessee Park to begin an eight-game homestand against the Omaha Storm Chasers and Memphis Redbirds.

The Sounds welcome the Omaha Storm Chasers for a four-game set from April 29th-May 2nd and the Memphis Redbirds from May 3rd-6th.

Nashville Sounds to hold annual “Suites-N-Treats” event for Underprivileged and Special Needs Children

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – On Wednesday, October 25th, 2017 at 5:00pm, the Nashville Sounds Foundation will host its annual “Suites-N-Treats” event for underprivileged and special needs children at First Tennessee Park.

Suites-N-Treats is an event that provides underprivileged and special needs children in the greater Nashville area with the opportunity to trick or treat in a safe and unique environment. There will also be activities set up for the participants, which include decorating their own trick or treat bags, making picture frames, enjoying complimentary food/drink (donated by Centerplate and Coca-Cola), and the opportunity to meet Sounds mascot Booster and take pictures with him.

Nashville Sounds Pitch in for Hurricane Harvey Relief Effort

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds Baseball Club has announced an online jersey and memorabilia auction for the remainder of the 2017 season to assist with the Hurricane Harvey relief effort in Texas, including the City of Houston and MiLB communities such as Corpus Christi and the surrounding areas that were impacted.

All home white jerseys of players currently with the Sounds, or most recently worn, will be part of the auction that is now live and can be found at www.qtego.net/qlink/sounds

It will close at 5:00pm (CST) on Monday, September 4th, 2017.

The program began in 2016 and is designed to help four deserving Nashville and Middle Tennessee students help pay for college tuition during their freshman year.

“Our community initiatives and being connected to the youth of Nashville and Middle Tennessee is a responsibility we take seriously,” said General Manager Adam Nuse. “The fundraising efforts throughout the 2016 season have allowed us to play a small role in fulfilling the dreams of these graduating seniors. Our fans play a huge role in this program and we are very thankful for their continued support.”

The pre-Halloween event is designed as an opportunity for underprivileged youth in the greater Nashville area to trick-or-treat in a safe and fun environment. Children can walk the Club Level at First Tennessee Park and visit each uniquely decorated suite to collect treats.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The first-place Nashville Sounds begin the final homestand of the regular season Monday when they welcome the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs – the Iowa Cubs – to First Tennessee Park for a four-game series.

The Sounds’ clinched the American Southern Division with it’s win over the Memphis Redbirds Friday night at AutoZone Park.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds hosted the El Paso Chihuahuas for the first time in franchise history on Friday night, losing 7-1, in front of 9,852 fans at First Tennessee Park.

Tyler Ladendorf made his return to the First Tennessee Park infield and immediately made his presence known; recording a single to leadoff the first, before singling again in the second to give Nashville an early 1-0 lead.
