Clarksville, TN – With colder weather forecast for the Clarksville area, social service agencies are focusing on emergency shelter solutions for homeless people in need.
The Clarksville-Montgomery County Community Action Agency offers short-term daytime shelter, homeless services and counseling referrals at its Old Firehouse Day Shelter, 1498 Golf Club Lane, Clarksville.
Clarksville Fire Stations, Recreation Centers serve as Warming Centers
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Fire Stations and City Recreation Centers are serving as temporary warming centers for people who need emergency relief from the severe cold that is expected to grip Middle Tennessee for the next several days.
Clarksville Police Department officers also are on the lookout for people who may need assistance and shelter during the cold spell.

Clarksville, TN – Due to the inclement weather conditions, the City of Clarksville has received inquiries about the City Council Meeting scheduled for 7:00pm on Thursday, March 5th, 2015.
Under the provisions of the City’s Charter and the City Code, all regularly scheduled Council meetings shall occur on the first Thursday of the month unless a specific ordinance is passed (which requires two separate readings) changing the meeting date or time; therefore, tonight’s meeting cannot be cancelled or rescheduled.

Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan provides information for Homeless Shelters during predicted Freezing Temperatures
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan is announcing the City of Clarksville’s plans to assist the homeless during the expected frigid temperatures.
Over the next two days, the temperature is predicted to fall well below freezing. The Mayor and the City’s Office of Housing and Community Development have been monitoring the availability of options for homeless people in Clarksville to get out of the elements, especially during the nighttime hours.
Convenient Car Care Inc. hosts successful coat and blanket drive for Room in the Inn, and donates $4,000 to Manna Cafe
Clarksville, TN – It’s been a brutally cold winter in Clarksville, and with the prospects of more winter weather, the need to help those less fortunate becomes critical.
Convenient Car Care Inc., owners and operators of the Valvoline Instant Oil Change franchise, stepped up their game in the month of January by offering to collect winter coats and blankets for Room in the Inn, and raise money for Manna Cafe. Both organizations work with the people in our community who need our help the most, the homeless.
