Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds (74-62) allowed a franchise-high 20 runs to the visiting Sacramento River Cats to lose 20-1 Monday night at Greer Stadium. The loss, coupled with Memphis’ 1-0 win over Fresno, gives the Redbirds a one-game lead in the division.

Sacramento racked up 24 hits, matching the most allowed by Sounds pitchers in franchise history, to hand Nashville its largest deficit in a loss this season. Each of the R-Cats batters finished with multiple hits.

Nashville Sounds roll over Sacramento River Cats at Greer Stadium, 14-2

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – In a battle of first-place clubs, the Nashville Sounds blew out the Sacramento River Cats, 14-2, on Sunday evening at Greer Stadium in the opener of a four-game series.

The 14 runs scored were the most for the Sounds this season. Six Nashville batters recorded multiple-hit efforts during the club’s 16-hit attack, which included a season-high four home runs.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds defeated the Fresno Grizzlies, 6-2, in front of a packed house of 9,025 fans on Saturday evening at Greer Stadium to gain a split of the four-game series.

With the victory, the Sounds (73-61) pulled back into a tie for the division lead with Memphis, which lost to Sacramento.

Donovan Hand (4-7) won his third consecutive outing for the Sounds by working his first quality start of the year. The right-hander held Fresno to two runs on six hits over six innings while striking out a career-high seven batters.

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN  The Nashville Sounds (38-34) suffered their fourth-straight loss at Greer Stadium Monday night, as the offense again struggled in a 9-0 defeat to the Tacoma Rainiers.

The loss hands the Sounds their first four-game series sweep since Sacramento took four games from Nashville from May 11th-14th 2013. The four-straight losses also match Nashville’s longest losing streak of the season.

The Sounds found ways to get runners on base throughout the evening, but went 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position.

Nashville SoundsMetairie, LA – The Nashville Sounds rallied to overcome five home runs delivered by the New Orleans Zephyrs Tuesday afternoon at Zephyr Field to win the series finale 7-5.

Down 4-2 in the eighth, the Sounds worked the bases loaded with no outs to spark the beginning of their late-game rally. Catcher Anderson De La Rosa cut the Z’s lead to one by nubbing an RBI ground out to first base, scoring Hainley Statia, who singled to lead off the frame.

Nashville Sounds Homer Four Times in 6-5 Loss to Sacramento River Cats at Greer Stadium

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – A late-game rally featuring back-to-back home runs by the Nashville Sounds came up short Sunday afternoon at Greer Stadium, allowing the Sacramento River Cats to win 6-5 over the home team.

Down 6-2 in the eighth, the Sounds jumped back in the game with Khris Davis’ two-run jack to left field that stayed just fair. The home run was the 25-year-old’s second of the game, cracking his first in the fourth inning. Davis becomes the second Sound this season to have a two-homer game, matching Hunter Morris’ effort from April 12th. Davis has six hits with the Sounds this season: three are homers.
