Clarksville City Council is asked to approve $2.85 million in FY20 budget

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – The Clarksville of Clarksville Street Department reports community reaction to conceptual plans for improving Whitfield Road have been mostly positive.

In response, Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts has asked the City Council to approve funding in the Fiscal Year 2020 budget for money to keep the project moving forward.

City of Clarksville to hold meeting on Whitfield Road plans April 3rd

City of Clarksville - Clarksville, TNClarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts and the Clarksville Street Department will host a neighborhood meeting next month on plans to improve Whitfield Road near the 101st Airborne Division Parkway, Needmore Road and Glen Ellen Elementary School.

The meeting will be from 6:00pm-7:30pm on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2019 at Glen Ellen Elementary School, 825 Needmore Road.

Clarksville Police report Pedestrian Fatality at the 101st Airborne Division Parkway and Whitfield Road

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Saturday October 13th, 2018, around 11:00pm, Clarksville Police report that at the intersection of 101st Airborne Division Parkway and Whitfield Road, a pedestrian attempted to cross the 101st Airborne Division Parkway to get to Tracy Lane just off of Whitfield Road.

The traffic signal for the eastbound traffic was green but, the female pedestrian in her 20s continued into the eastbound lanes and was hit by a 2003, Nissan, Xterra driven by Jose E. Alvarado Galvez, 45.

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police were dispatched to a reported shooting at 5:48pm Friday, October 13th, 2017 at an apartment on the 700 block of Tracy Lane.

One deceased individual was located at the scene.

The preliminary investigation suggests that there is no danger to the public.

Clarksville Police Department reports Seven Men indicted for Walmart Neighborhood Market parking lot shooting

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On April 23rd, 2017, Clarksville Police Officers responded to 911 calls related to a shooting originating at the Walmart Neighborhood Market parking lot on Whitfield Boulevard.

After an exhaustive investigation, numerous man hours expended interviewing individuals, processing crime scenes, and sorting through statements and evidence, the information was presented to the grand jury for consideration.

As a result, the May Montgomery County Grand Jury, held May 1st and 2nd, returned indictments on 7 men with 16 charges each, in conjunction with the shooting originating at the Walmart Neighborhood Market, Whitfield Boulevard, resulting in the death of Jalen Johnson.

Clarksville Police report Attempted Kidnapping on Tracy Lane

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Tracy Lane and Pea Ridge Road at 3:47pm due to an E911 call about an attempted kidnapping.

The mother of a 3-year-old (almost 4 years old) child said that a Hispanic male or a dark-skinned white male jumped her fence and ran towards her child.

The mother then made her presence known and chased him away.
