APSU Men’s Golf
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s golf team shot a final-round 298, improving to a fourth-place finish at San Francisco’s Triumph at Pauma Valley.
The Govs shot a three-round 899 (294-307-298) to finish 25 shots behind tourney winner Central Arkansas’s three-round 874. Host San Francisco finished second (893) followed by Weber State (894) and Austin Peay, while Columbia and Longwood (906) tied for fifth.

Sophomore Dustin Korte trailed Iten by one stroke, finishing t-19th (70-80-75=225). Korte had the Govs only under-par round of the tournament Freshman Anthony Bradley, in his first spring tournament, was only a stroke back of Korte, t-22nd (75-75-76=226).
Freshman Trey Tarpley (78-77-74=229) and senior Luke Sherrod (75-83-74=232) rounded out the Govs efforts. In fact, Tarpley and Sherrod each shot final-round 74s, accounting for two of the Govs counting scores in the final round.
Austin Peay returns to action in two weeks, March 28th, at Jacksonville State’s Grub Mart Intercollegiate.
