Clarksville, TN – Giselle Fontenot has been named Miss River Queen 2011, while Sarah Gross will reign as the new Miss River Teen. The new title holders were crowned at the pageant held Saturday, March 26th, at Austin Peay State University’s Clement Auditorium.
The new queen and teen were crowned by the 2010 Miss River Queen Kyndal Hayes and Miss River Teen Katie Kennedy.The pair will reign over the Rivers & Spires Festival in downtown Clarksville, April 14th-16th, making numerous appearances, signing autographs and participating in festival events. In October, they will also advance to the Miss Tennessee USA or Teen USA pageants, which are part of The Miss Universe Organization.
Contestants competed in three phases: swimsuit, evening gown and private interview. In the Miss River Teen pageant, Amy Taylor was named first runner-up, and Channing Simmons received second runner-up. For Miss River Queen, first runner-up was Lesleigh Stanfill, and Lauren Tanner was second runner-up.
The 9th Annual Rivers & Spires Festival, April 14th-16th in downtown Clarksville, is free and open to the public. The festival features six stages of music and entertainment, arts and crafts, marketplace, food vendors, and activities for all ages. For more information, visit www.riversandspires.com.
