APSU Sports: Austin Peay Volleyball
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s Volleyball team begins a three-match home stand when it hosts Middle Tennessee in a 7:00pm, Wednesday non-conference contest at the Dunn Center.

“I’ve been waiting for us to play with the intensity we showed at Middle Tennessee,” said Lady Govs head coach Taylor Mott. “I don’t believe we’ve been the same team since that match. Hopefully playing them again on our court will be the spark we need to get on track in conference play.”
Austin Peay (9-12) has been unable to find any momentum since entering conference play, posting a 3-3 mark in its last six matches. Senior outside hitter Nikki Doyle has hit her stride during the OVC slate and currently leads the league with 4.27 kills per set in conference play. Last weekend, she tied a career high with 23 kills in APSU’s four-set loss at OVC West-leading Southeast Missouri, Friday.
Middle Tennessee (5-16) has posted a 2-2 mark in its last four matches which followed an 11-match losing streak. Freshman outside hitter Chelsea Ross leads the Blue Raiders offense with 290 kills (3.82 kills per set) and has averaged 3.52 kills per set in Sun Belt Conference play.
Wednesday’s match is a “Pack the Peay” event with free food on a first-come, first-served basis to Austin Peay main campus students with ID.
