Austin Peay State University golfers share OVC Golfer of the Week honors

APSU Sports: Austin Peay Men’s Golf

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University men’s golfers Marco Iten and Korey Smith, who both tied for third at the Carter Plantation Intercollegiate, have earned Ohio Valley Conference Golfer of the Week honors, along with UT Martin’s Ben Reeves.

This is the second straight week that Iten has been honored. The junior from Niederglatt, Switzerland overcame a first-round 76 to shoot 7-under (68-69) during the final two rounds to finish at 213. Iten took second place in the Harmony Preserve Intercollegiate in the Govs’ first spring tournament.

Smith, a redshirt freshman, took a slight different path to his 213. The Murfreesboro native was consistent with his performance, shooting 70-71-72 while playing as an individual.

After finishing first in the Harmony Preserve, the Govs ended second at the Carter Plantation event.
