Montgomery County Sheriff official detains aggressive juvenile near Court Complex

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOMontgomery County, TN – Officials with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office had to detain an aggressive juvenile in a parking lot near the Court Complex early this morning.

Inv. Julie Webb was walking to court when she noticed what seemed to be a teenager and adult female yelling at each other in the parking lot near the parking garage.

“I asked the woman, who I found out later was his mother, if she needed help, telling her that I’m a police officer,” Webb said. “She said, ‘Yes, he needs to be arrested.'”

Webb was the only officer in the area, and she attempted, along with the mother, to calm the teen down, but it only seemed to escalate, she said.

“Captain Jesse Reynolds came out and I called him over to help me deescalate the situation,” Webb said.

Lt. Cliff Smith and other officials arrived on scene, and the teen seemed to get more aggressive as he backed near the wall of the parking garage.

“I saw an opportunity, and I grabbed him by the arm, and the rest of the guys helped me detain and cuff him,” Webb said. “Afterwards, she thanked me for helping.”

Webb plans on taking out a juvenile petition against the teen for resisting arrest.

The teen had just come from juvenile court.
