Clarksville, TN – CDE Lightband recently achieved a perfect score during a facilities safety audit coordinated by Tennessee Valley Public Power Association and Distributors Insurance Company. Less than five percent of utility participants in the Tennessee Valley have obtained such a score historically.
Steve Powell, a 39-year veteran with utility business and a Certified Utility Safety Administrator, conducted the audit.“CDE Lightband has developed a culture that puts the safety of its employees and the public first”, said Powell. “It is clear that CDE Lightband takes a very proactive approach to safety.”
Out of 260 items on the auditor’s checklist, not a single item was reported for noncompliance, resulting in the perfect score. The auditor commended the utility for outstanding safety practices with its job sites, vehicles and facilities.
“CDE Lightband is committed to employee safety and the safety of the general public,” said Brian Taylor, CDE Lightband superintendent. “This score is the result of a team effort by our employees who work hard to cultivate a positive safety attitude at our offices and out in the field.”
CDE Lightband is a municipal electric and broadband services provider serving approximately 65,000 electric customers and 18,000 broadband customers within the city limits of Clarksville, TN.
