Spartanburg, SC – Austin Peay State University men’s golf team could not maintain the momentum in the afternoon it mustered in the morning, Monday, in the 28th Annual Coca-Cola Wofford Invitational.
As a result, the Governors are tied for ninth heading into Tuesday’s final day of the event, being played at The Country Club of Spartanburg.

But they were burdened by 22 bogeys and three doubles in the afternoon with only 13 birdies and one eagle (Austin Kramer), leading to a 297. The Governors 580 has them tied with Presbyterian. Gardner-Webb leads the event at 12-under 564, just two strokes ahead of host Wofford and USC Upstate.
On an up-and-down day by the Governors, senior Austin Kramer leads the way, sitting in a 17th-place tie after shooting a 1-under 142 (70-72).
Junior Erik Hedberg had APSU’s best round of the day, shooting a 3-under 69 in the morning but slipped to a 76 in the afternoon for a 76. After playing his first nine morning holes at 1-over Hedberg played the second nine at 4-under, including an eagle 3 on the par 5 first-hole.
Like Hedberg was Baker, who played the morning round at even-par 72 but slipped to a 75 in the afternoon. Baker also eagled the No. 1 hole—his second to last hole.
