APSU Women's GolfClarksville, TN  – Austin Peay State University (APSU) women’s golf will continue a hectic fall season when the Govs travel to Glencoe, Alabama for the three-day Chris Banister Classic, hosted by Jacksonville State at Silver Lakes Golf Club.

This is the 24th edition of the event, but the first the Govs have attended since 2014, predating everyone on the current roster.

The 6,058-yard, par-72 is a Robert Trent Jones creation—the same as what the Govs will play on come next April at the 2019 Ohio Valley Conference Women’s Golf Championships.

In addition to the Govs and Jacksonville State, OVC foes Murray State, Tennessee State and Tennessee Tech will be in attendance, along with Alabama State. The Govs will be paired with Tennessee Tech and will start at 7:30am (CT) on Sunday from the first hole.

“We are looking forward to being back at this event,” said Austin Peay State University Governors head coach Amy McCollum. “The course lay out helps us prepare for the OVC Championship in the spring and we are able to compete against multiple OVC schools. We are excited that the tournament format this week is ‘play six, count four,’ which varies from the typical play-five, count-four format. The team has been working hard and we are ready to build on our second-place finish from last week.”

The freshmen who led the charge up the leaderboard at last week’s will top the lineup once again this week, with both Taylor Dedmen and Shelby Darnell heading the lineup. Another top-20 finish for Dedmen would make her the freshman Gov since Staci Lynch (2006-07) with three straight top-20 finishes.

Senior Taylor Goodley looks to continue a career-spanning run of success in Alabama-based tournaments. Over four tournaments in Alabama during her Austin Peay career, Goodley has averaged 76.6 strokes over 11 rounds and an average finish of 17th.

Junior Meghann Stamps is back in the lineup and looking to break into the top-20 after finishing 22nd at the Greenbrier Invitational last week. Senior Reagan Greene returns to Alabama, where she earned a top-10 finish at last spring’s OVC Championships.

Rounding out the lineup this week will be sophomore Andrea Presilla, who makes her first appearance in Austin Peay’s lineup after competing as the individual five times as a freshman.

Live scoring will not be available for this event, but a complete recap and a full component of stats will be available at the end of each day at LetsGoPeay.com.
