Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, August 3rd, 2019, despite the sweltering heat, folks showed up in mass to “Fuel the Bus” between 10:00am and 2:00pm.
The Clarksville Police Department’s hope was not only fuel the bus, but fill the bus. That’s exactly what happened. There were over 60,000 items collected which will be used to support the 2300 children assisted by the FUEL program.
There was something for everyone at the event–games, inflatables, food, Child IDs, emergency vehicles to check out, dogs to walk, and so much more.
The event would not have been possible without the support of the many vendors, agencies, people volunteering their time and resources, Clarksville and Montgomery County government and the coordination by the Clarksville Police Department’s Community Relations Unit and the Downtown Commons.
What an amazing event with the ever generous people of Clarksville.
