Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University track and field (APSU) will take a step up in competition this weekend at the Purdue-hosted Gene Edmonds Invitational. Action commences Friday at the recently-renovated Lambert Fieldhouse in West Lafayette, Indiana.

The Boilermakers are welcoming a wide array of teams to this event—Purdue and the Governors will take on student-athletes from Alabama State, Ball State, Butler, Calumet College, IUPUI, Lindenwood, Louisville, Maryville, Northwestern, Southeast Missouri, University of the Bahamas and Milwaukee.
The Govs bring the reigning Ohio Valley Conference Track and Field Athletes of the Week into this meet. In her first two meets, freshman Kenisha Phillips has wins in the 60m dash and 200m dash, equaling the school record in the 60m before Christmas. Junior Maya Perry-Grimes had a win and a runner-up in the jumps last week in Nashville, equaling or setting personal-bests in both the triple and long.
Live scoring will be available for this meet at PurdueSports.com.
