Nashville, TN – The Memphis Redbirds scored 10 runs in the first three innings on their way to a 18-6 win over the Nashville Sounds in front of a sellout crowd of 4,000 fans Tuesday night at First Horizon Park, the largest attendance allowed under the current Metro Public Health Department guidelines.
The return of professional baseball to Nashville was spoiled quickly by the visiting Redbirds. They jumped on Sounds starter Thomas Jankins and tagged him for 11 earned runs, a career-high.
Trailing 2-0 after a half of an inning, the Sounds battled back immediately.

Tennessee Department of Health reports 331 new cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus in Tennessee, May 11th, 2021
Due to the Tennessee Department of Health now releasing COVID-19 Datasets One Day behind, 5-18-year-old cases and county percent positive rate will reflect the day before’s numbers
Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) reports that there have been 705,111 confirmed cases of COVID-19 Coronavirus as of Tuesday, May 11th, 2021. That is an increase of 331 cases from Monday’s 704,780. There have been 9,877 (+13) confirmed deaths in Tennessee because of the virus.
TWENTY TWO new cases of the COVID-19 Coronavirus have been reported in Montgomery County. The total is 20,337. There was one case Monday in the age group of 5-18-year-olds. There have been 227 deaths in Montgomery County due to the virus. There were 164 tests given Monday with 19 positive results for an 11.6 percent positive.

Nashville, TN – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) has issued an Amber Alert on behalf of the Oliver Springs Police Department for 6-month-old Lilybet Boyd.
Lilybet went missing from a residence in Oliver Springs, Tennessee this morning. She was last seen wearing pink pajamas.
She may be in a dark blue 2016 Ford Explorer with Temporary Tag QGJ88B1 and a CarMax tag on the front of the vehicle.

Tennessee Gas Prices Rise Three Cents
Nashville, TN – After holding steady last week, gas prices in Tennessee rose three cents, on average, over the last week. The Tennessee Gas Price average is now $2.72 which is 3 cents more than one month ago and $1.12 more than one year ago.
“The shutdown of the Colonial Pipeline late last week will likely have implications on both gasoline supply and prices in Tennessee, and those could happen as early as this week,” said Megan Cooper, spokesperson, AAA – The Auto Club Group. “The longer the pipeline is down, the greater the threat of rising gas prices. Tennesseans may see prices increase three to seven cents this week.”
