Nashville Sounds lose 7-5 to Round Rock Express

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds fell 7-5 to the Round Rock Express on Tuesday evening at Greer Stadium in the finale of a five-game series.

Nashville (51-80), which held a 5-1 lead in the fifth before Round Rock plated six unanswered runs, lost four of five to the Express in the series.

Round Rock grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning against Johnny Hellweg. Alex Buchholz (4-for-5) doubled to right and came around to score on Jim Adduci’s two-out RBI infield single.

Nashville Sounds drop game to Round Rock Express 8-6 in extra innings

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN- The Round Rock Express rallied from a mid-game four-run deficit to eventually hang an 8-6, 10-inning defeat on the Nashville Sounds on Sunday evening at Greer Stadium.

Nashville (51-78), which led 5-1 entering the sixth inning, fell to 1-7 in extra-inning play this season (0-4 at home).

In the decisive tenth frame, Round Rock loaded the bases with no outs on a walk sandwiched by a pair of singles against Travis Webb. Engel Beltre delivered a go-ahead RBI single to center before Alex Buchholz chased Webb with an RBI groundout that gave the Express an 8-6 lead.

Nashville Sounds lose Friday night to Round Rock Express 7-4

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN –  The Nashville Sounds dropped the opener of a five-game series against the Round Rock Express on Friday evening , falling 7-4 in front of 8,714 fans at Greer Stadium.

Nashville (50-77) out-hit the Express, 10-8, in the contest and Sounds pitchers combined to strike out a season-high 15 batters in the losing effort.

The team concludes the road trip 1-7, snapping a nine-game losing skid with their first win on the road since April 13th.

Second baseman Scooter Gennett went 2-for-4 for the Sounds to raise his average to .366. He has reached base safely in all 23 of his games this season. First baseman Hunter Morris contributed a 2-for-3 effort and third baseman Stephen Parker extended Nashville’s longest active hitting streak to seven games with a single in the defeat.
