APSU Softball has record-tying four First-Team All-OVC selections

 

APSU SoftballBrentwood, TN – The Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) announced today that five Austin Peay State University softball team members earned All-Ohio Valley Conference recognition for their outstanding play this season at the OVC Tournament Awards Banquet.

A program-tying four athletes were placed on the All-OVC First-Team.

Instant Peay Play: APSU Softball’s Danielle Liermann has strong case for OVC honors

 

Instant Peay Play - APSU SportsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s Danielle Liermann has put together one of the best freshman campaigns in school history for the Governors softball program and with the 2016 season coming to an end this week has made a strong case for being considered for several Ohio Valley Conference honors.

With three games left on this year’s schedule, Liermann – a 5-7, third baseman from Simi Valley, CA – is hitting .369, with nine doubles, a triple and six home runs.

Instant Peay Play: APSU Lady Govs Volleyball welcomes large in-coming class to already talented group

 

Instant Peay PlayClarksville, TN – Most of the time, when a college volleyball team has six incoming freshmen added to an overall roster that usually numbers between 12 to 14 you expect a certain level of growing pains.

But Austin Peay’s volleyball team welcomes its sextet of newcomers to an already talented returning roster looking to make a run to an Ohio Valley Conference championship in November.

The six newcomers are by far the largest incoming recruiting class for fourth-year head coach Taylor Mott, whose teams have made the OVC tournament in each of her three previous seasons at the helm, including making the semifinals in 2013.

Instant Peay Play: Focus turns to Basketball, Indoor Track as Fall season ends for APSU

 

Legends Bank, Clarksville TNClarksville, TN – With Governors football and Lady Govs volleyball seeing their respective seasons come to an end this past weekend Austin Peay fans will turn their full attention to basketball and indoor track, as the calendar get set to turn to December.

But before we get too immersed in hoops and hurdles action, let’s remember some of the highlights and accomplishments from Austin Peay’s cross country, football, soccer and volleyball teams during their Fall 2014 seasons.
