Clarksville-Montgomery County Arts and Heritage Development Council to honor three Clarksvillians November 13th

Clarksville Arts and Heritage Development CouncilClarksville, TN – Three Clarksvillians will be honored this Tuesday, November 13th, 2018 by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Arts and Heritage Development Council for their achievements in art and in preserving our heritage.

Ceramicists Ken and Melody Shipley will receive the Lifetime Achievement in Art award, and Dr. Minoa Uffelman, Austin Peay State University (APSU) history professor, will receive the Lifetime Achievement in Heritage award.

The awards ceremony will begin at 5:00pm at Emerald Hill on the Austin Peay campus.

Austin Peay State University Food for Fines project doubles participation for 2017

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – In 2014, the Austin Peay State University Department of Public Safety began a partnership with the University’s Save Our Students (SOS) food bank, creating the Food for Fines program.

The program allows anyone who received an APSU parking ticket the option to provide food to APSU students in need in exchange for a parking ticket being voided.

Local Girl Scout troop supports APSU campus food pantry

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – On April 10th, 2017, Girl Scout Troop 2604 donated 70 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies to the Austin Peay State University Save Our Students (SOS) Campus Food Pantry.

Food, Clothing, and Hygiene Drive to support the Austin Peay State University Food Pantry

Tennessee State Representative - House District 67Nashville, TN – House Bill 32, License Plates for our Veterans and Active Duty Military.

House Bill 32, sponsored by Tennessee State Representative Cameron Sexton (R-Crossville) will make some changes, effective July 1st, 2014, to the issuance of license plates to our active duty military and veterans who receive honors and awards such as the Purple Heart, Silver Star, Air Medal, and Medal of Honor.

The most substantial change is moving the Air Medal plates to the category of military cultural license plates.  This category also contains other license plates such as the Silver Star and Bronze Star.
