APSU to host Homecoming Scholarship 5K November 1st

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – This year’s Austin Peay State University Homecoming theme, Gov Strong, will take on an added meaning on November 1st as University alumni and supporters push themselves to complete the 2014 Scholarship 5K Run.

The race, through a USA Track and Field certified course, will begin at 9:00am that Saturday at the Pace Alumni Center at Emerald Hill.  The challenge that day will come toward the end of the run, when tired participants tackle the steep hill in front of the alumni center. APSU hosts Clarksville Chamber of Commerce’s “Business After Hours” Thursday night

Austin Peay State University Sports - APSU - Governors - Lady GovsClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University athletics and the Governors Club served as host to the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce’s August “Business After Hours,” Thursday, at APSU’s Pace Alumni Center.

The monthly networking event for Chamber members also served as a kickoff for Austin Peay fans to celebrate the beginning of the 2014-15 competition season.

Austin Peay State University professors publish Civil War diary about life in Clarksville

 

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – On a cold night in February 1862, the moans and whimpers of injured Confederate soldiers filled the streets of Clarksville.

Hospitals had been set up in local buildings to treat the wounded, following the Battle of Fort Donelson in nearby Dover, and whispered rumors claimed the Union army was heading for the city.

Austin Peay State University Governors - APSUClarksville, TN – Calling all Governors Football Alumni! Austin Peay State University Athletics, in conjunction with Alumni Relations, has announced its 2014 Governors Football Alumni Reunion will coincide with the opening of New Governors Stadium.

The New Governors Stadium weekend will commence with a golf outing, Thursday, September 11th and conclude with a reception following the Governors’ September 13th game against Chattanooga.

Celebrate APSU Homecoming with Alumni Golf Tournament and 5K Run

 

APSU - Austin Peay State University SportsClarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Alumni Relations Office plans to welcome back graduates later this month with two special Homecoming events – the 35th Annual Homecoming Golf Tournament and the Homecoming Scholarship 5K Run.

At 8:00am on Friday, October 25th, alumni and the public are invited to participate in the golf tournament at Swan Lake Golf Course. The event, sponsored by Budweiser of Clarksville, costs $60.00 a person, and the fee includes a ditty bag, refreshments on the golf course and lunch. «Read the rest of this article»
