Clarksville Police report Boat Stolen from Bill Roberts Thunder Road

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Wednesday, October 9th, 2013, in the early morning hours, Craig Akers took a red and brown, 2000 model, Tracker Marine Nitro NX750 boat, from the Bill Roberts Thunder Road lot located at 1018 South Riverside.

He sold the parts and the stripped boat to “random” people in the 41-A Walmart parking lot.

Rivers and Spires Festival reaches Crescendo with Jo Dee Messina Concert

 

Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – The final day of the 2013 Rivers and Spires Festival began with absolutely glorious weather. The sun was shining and the sky was that special shade of blue you get after a spring storm. The crowds started showing up even before the 10:00am official opening time.

Dave Loos, Jr. from WJZM 1400 AM was on hand broadcasting Live from the Bill Roberts Thunder Road Automotive and Marine booth just down from the Roxy Regional Theatre. He spent the morning interviewing festival organizers and some of the sponsors.

Amazing Weather on Last Day of the 2012 Riverfest Celebration

 

2012 Riverfest - 25thClarksville, TN – As the final day of Riverfest 2012 opened rain showers were still falling over Clarksville, but they soon cleared out leaving simply marvelous weather for the rest of the day. It was cooler than it had been on the previous day which was nice, and the sky was a clear bright blue with fluffy white clouds.

The crowds flocked to McGregor Park to enjoy the days activities. First off was the Riverfest Regatta. Business, Community, and Civic organizations had spent the previous months getting their vessels and teams ready to compete.

Clarksville-Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours on Thursday Showcases New Marina

 

Clarksville Area Chamber of CommerceClarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours on Thursday was sponsored by Bill Roberts and the Clarksville Marina. Chamber members were given the opportunity to get a first hand look at the newly opened Marina at Liberty Park.

The Marina currently features 85 slips of which about half are already leased. When fully completed there will be a total of roughly 300 slips available. Slip rental starts at around $200 per month with the top end slips going for around $450. The Marina also features a Ships Store, basically a small convenience store, refueling station, restrooms with private showers showers, laundry facility, etc. “We are thrilled, the available slips are over half full already and our phone is ringing off the wall; it’s going to fill up quick!” said General Manager Dave Signs. “We feel like what is going on here is something that’s Clarksville’s not seen before, a marina is a family, it is its own little town.”

Rivers and Spires Festival Celebrates 10th Anniversary with a Bang

 

Rivers and Spires Festiveal 2012 - 10 yearsClarksville, TN – The final day of the 2012 Rivers and Spires Festival on Saturday opened with unseasonably cooler weather to the point of being really chilly.  Warm coats, hats, and/or gloves were the order of the day.  Turnout started out slow, and might have been a little bit depressed over all from previous years as a result, but the people who did come out had a really great time!

Arriving around 11:00am, I found dribs and drabs of people mostly scattered around the various stages. As the morning progressed the numbers steadily increased. Flag Day Observance in Clarksville-Montgomery County

 

Clarksville, TN – Flag Day was officially observed in Montgomery County yesterday at VFW Post 4895 located off of Haynes Street behind the former location of Gateway Hospital.

The Ceremony was held under the Auspices of the Montgomery County Veterans Service Organization, Marine Corps League, Detachment 603, The Disabled American Veterans Chapter 45 VFW Post 4895, Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 457, with the assistance several young members of Cub Scout Pack 503, Brownie Pack 504, and under the watchful eye of fire fighters from Clarksville Fire Rescue Station #4. Stacey Hopwood served as the Emcee. DAV Commander Art Taylor and VFW Post service officer David Ross conducted the burning ceremony.
