BBB Scam Alert: New Romance Scam Where Everything Is Fake

 

Better Business Bureau - BBBNashville, TN – You’ve probably heard about romance scams where con artists trick unsuspecting victims into falling in love – and parting with their money. Lately, BBB Scam Tracker is getting reports of a new type of romance scam. In this con, it’s the entire dating website that’s a sham.
 
How the Scam Works: You sign up for a dating service that seems legitimate. The site asks you to fill out a profile with your personal information. This includes your credit card number, which is used to pay for your membership.

However, when you start browsing other users’ profiles, you notice red flags. Other members who contact you have incomplete profiles that lack photos and other basic information.

Tennessee National Guardsman Timothy Cordeiro of Clarksville promoted to Sergeant First Class

 

Tennessee National GuardNashville, TN – Staff Sgt. Timothy Cordeiro, a Clarksville native and photojournalist with the Tennessee National Guard’s 118th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment, promoted to sergeant first class in Nashville, June 6th, 2021.

As a public affairs mass communications specialist, Cordeiro tells the Army’s story through various forms of communication outlets, which include photography, videography, social media, and journalism.

Clarksville-Montgomery County under Hazardous Weather alert

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a hazardous weather outlook alert for Clarksville-Montgomery County and parts of Middle Tennessee.

A couple of strong thunderstorms with heavy downpours which could cause localized flooding and gusty winds are possible along and east of I-65.

There is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms for the area before 8:00pm and patchy fog possible after 10:00pm.

Nashville Sounds fall 3-2 to Charlotte Knights

 

Nashville SoundsNashville, TN – The Nashville Sounds lost their third straight in a rain-shortened game against the Charlotte Knights 3-2 Sunday Afternoon at Truist Field. The game was called in the top of the seventh inning with one out.

Charlotte took a 2-0 lead in the third on a two-run homer off the bat of Gavin Sheets. The Knights extended their lead to 3-0 in the fourth as Evan Skoug led off the inning with a double, advanced on a wild pitch, and scored on a groundout.

Jake Hager led off the fifth inning with a double and eventually came in to score on an errant pickoff attempt to cut Charlotte’s lead to 3-1.

Tornado Warning issued for Northeastern Montgomery County

 

National Weather ServiceNashville, TN – The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a tornado warning for Northeastern Montgomery County and Northwestern Robertson County until 9:45pm CT.

At 9:21pm CT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Clarksville, moving northeast at 35 mph.

The impact is flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.

Tennessee National GuardNashville, TN – Outgoing Command Chief Warrant Officer 5 Ricky Tackett relinquished responsibility to Chief Warrant Officer 4 David Ward during a change of responsibility ceremony held at Tennessee National Guard’s Joint Force Headquarters, March 31st, 2021.

Tackett served as the top Army Warrant Officer advisor to Tennessee’s Adjutant General, Assistant Adjutant General, and Land Component Commander since 2017 and supervised the training and wellbeing of Tennessee’s warrant officers across the state.
