The American Heart Association’s Greater Nashville Heart Walk is 8 weeks away, on Saturday, October 3rd at Vanderbilt University sports field. The annual event brings together the Middle Tennessee community in a free festival and non-competitive walk, to raise funds for research, education and public health programs  fighting the No. 1 and No. 5 killers of Americans, heart disease and stroke.

American Heart Association announces Dr. Holly Atkinson to keynote at Go Red For Women Wellness Expo and Luncheon

 

Go Red for Women - American Heart AssociationNashville, TN – Well-known media personality Dr. Holly Atkinson, senior on-air medical correspondent and chief medical editor of HealthiNation, a digital consumer health video network, will be the keynote speaker at the Go Red For Women Wellness Expo and Luncheon on April 29th.

The annual health expo and luncheon takes place from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the Music City Center, and will demonstrate tips on healthy living to more than 400 female guests while raising funds for the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement supporting women-focused research and education fighting their No. 1 killer, heart disease.

This icon day of the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement is the day when everyone Goes Red across the nation to support women’s fight against heart disease, their No. 1 killer.

10,000 to walk for Hearts at Greater Nashville Heart Walk this Saturday, October 4th

The 2014 Greater Nashville Heart Walk will welcome 10,000+ walkers bright and early at Vanderbilt University sports field (Blakemore Avenue/Natchez Trace) next Saturday, October 4th, 2014. It’s one of the largest fundraising walks in Tennessee.

The annual event is the largest fundraiser for the American Heart Association in the Nashville area, and funds go to vital research, public health programs and community education to fight heart disease and stroke, which together kill 1 in 3 Americans. This year’s fundraising goal is $2 million.

2014 Greater Nashville Heart Walk date set for October 4th

American Heart AssociationNashville, TN – Summer means it’s Heart Walk season! In just under three months, the 2014 Greater Nashville Heart Walk will welcome 10,000+ walkers bright and early at Vanderbilt on Saturday, October 4th, 2014. It’s one of the largest fundraising walks in Tennessee.

The Heart Walk website is now open for team registration and fundraising. Teams are encouraged to sign up at  www.nashvilleheartwalk.org . Individuals can also join existing teams and set their own personal goals. There is no registration fee.

The event takes place on February 1st at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. The theme is “Ignite the Night” and décor will be in red and gold.

Heart disease and stroke make a huge impact on the health of Middle Tennessee – but the upcoming Heart Walk aims to make an even bigger impact by fighting back against the no. 1 and no. 4 killers of Americans.

The American Heart Association’s Greater Nashville Heart Walk will bring together more than 12,000 walkers at Vanderbilt University on Saturday, October 12th, 2013, in one of the largest non-competitive walks in all of Tennessee. Olympic gold medal swimmer and heart survivor Dana Vollmer to speak at Go Red For Women Luncheon April 12th

 

Go Red for Women - American Red CrossNashville, TN – Olympic gold medal swimmer and heart survivor Dana Vollmer will be the keynote speaker at this year’s 10th Anniversary Go Red For Women Luncheon, to be held April 12th at Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center.

Vollmer had to overcome a potentially serious heart condition as a child, a disorder of the heart’s electrical activity, which had her mother accompanying her to swim meets armed with a defibrillator in case she went into cardiac arrest.
