Ceremony to Commemorate the Passage of the Tyler Head Law held in Clarksville

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – On Friday, May 3rd, 2016 at 10:00am, Tennessee State Representative Joe Pitts and State Senator Kerry Roberts joined Gina Head-Heiber, the mother of Tyler Head, along with her family, friends, and guests to unveil the first sign for the new memorial sign program recognizing victims of accidents involving a DUI driver along state highways.

The ceremony was held at 1503 Madison Street, where the Cumberland Grille restaurant was located.

Hands Across the Border kickoff

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Today, Friday, May 20th, 2016 at 1:00pm, the Clarksville Police Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Kentucky State Police, Christian County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Hopkinsville Police Department and Oak Grove Police Department put on a press event that was coordinated by the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO).

Law Enforcement Liaison (LEL) Tony Burnett from the THSO led the event by welcoming the media and others in attendance. He thanked all the law enforcement personnel representing each of the agencies and explained the Hands Across the Border (HATB) campaign.

Clarksville Police Department celebrates 30 years of Seat Belt Enforcement during National “Click it or Ticket” campaign

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – Clarksville Police Department is partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office to increase seat belt enforcement from May 23rd to June 5th, surrounding of one of the busiest travel weekends of the year.

“If you ask the family members of those unrestrained people who were killed in crashes, they’ll tell you—they wish their loved ones had buckled up,” said Lt. Philip Ashby. “The bottom line is that seat belts save lives. If these enforcement crackdowns get people’s attention and get them to buckle up, then we’ve done our job. There is no good excuse for not wearing a seat belt.”

Hands Across the border Sobriety Roadside Safety Checkpoints and Saturation Patrols to be held May 20th and 21st

 

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol, Kentucky State Police, Christian County Sheriff’s Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, Hopkinsville Police Department and Oak Grove Police Department will be conducting roadside safety checkpoints and saturation patrols on May 20th, 2016 and May 21st, 2016 in Montgomery County, Tennessee and Christian County, Kentucky.

The locations of the checkpoints will be on U.S. 41-A near the state line. Saturation Patrols will be on U.S. 41-A, Tennessee State Routes 374 & 236, Kentucky State Routes 400, 115 & 911.
