101st Airborne Division Veterans, Service Members remember at Currahee Memorial

United States Air ForceBeuzeville au Plain, France – U.S. Airmen, Soldiers, veterans and French citizens gathered June 1st , 2016 the Currahee Memorial in the Normandy region to pay their respects to the men who died at the crash site on D-Day near Beuzeville au Plain, France.

In attendance for the ceremony, part of the 72nd annual commemoration of the Invasion of Normandy in 1944, were Soldiers from the historic 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, and Airmen from the 86th Airlift Wing at Ramstein Air Base, Germany.

Clarksville Department of Parks and Recreation’s 2nd annual Rally on the Cumberland was a big success

 

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Department of Parks and Recreation held the second annual rally on the Cumberland on Saturday. This canoe and kayak event is a five-mile course which starts at the Clarksville Conservation Club boat dock and ends at Freedom Point in Liberty Park.

“It’s a beautiful day! We’re very happy with the turnout this year,” said Melissa Adkins, the program superintendent for the Clarksville Department of Parks and Recreation. “We have 33 boats with a total of 39 participants who are taking part in the second annual Rally on the Cumberland.”

Clarksville Police Department launches awareness campaign to reach out to boaters

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department will be participating in Operation Dry Water as part of a nationally coordinated effort to raise awareness about the dangers of boating under the influence (BUI) and reduce the number of accidents and deaths related to alcohol use on our waterways.

Operation Dry Water weekend, June 27th-29th, is the national weekend of heightened enforcement of boating under the influence laws and recreational boater outreach.

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency announces Sixth Annual Operation Dry Water set for June 27th-29th

 

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency - TWRANashville, TN  The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency will be participating in Operation Dry Water, June 27th-29th.

Operation Dry Water is a national weekend of Boating Under the Influence (BUI) education and enforcement directed toward reducing alcohol and drug-related accidents and fatalities.

Operation Dry Water is held on the weekend prior to the July 4th holiday to give BUI enforcement high visibility during the peak boating season.
