APSU Women’s Softball
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s softball team opens the home portion of its Ohio Valley Conference schedule this weekend, hosting Eastern Kentucky for a three-game series at Lady Govs Field.
The series starts with a 1:00pm, Saturday doubleheader and concludes with a 1:00pm, Sunday single game.

Offensively, Austin Peay is led by freshman Lauren de Castro, who has been the team’s hottest hitter the past four games with a .545 batting average in that span, while entering the weekend batting .309 overall on the season, with a team-high four doubles to go with two home runs and 10 RBI.
Red-shirt sophomore Jessica Ryan and junior Amy Mills also have been hot, with the latter hitting .455 in the last four games and the former .438.
Shelby Norton, a red-shirt sophomore, has hit at a .357 clip in the last four games, including smacking a double and two home runs.
In the circle, sophomore right-hander Morgan Brewer picked up her season’s second win, a complete-game decision against Belmont, which was also her season’s fourth complete game.
