Tuscaloosa, AL – Senior libero Paige Economos was named to the Hampton Inn Bama Bash all-tournament team, Saturday, following the conclusion of tourney play.
Economos, of Crystal Lake, IL, posted 61 digs in the Lady Govs three matches, averaging 5.55 digs per set. She recorded a weekend best 25 digs in Austin Peay’s four-set loss to Texas State. It is Economos’ second career all-tournament honor.
“Paige had a phenomenal weekend,” said Lady Govs head coach Bill Egbert. “She’s not only our emotional leader but also our spark that gets everyone going. Paige is always in the point. Everyone looks to her to see where to go and what to do. I believe she was the best libero at that tournament. I would have taken her over any of the other players out there.”
Austin Peay returns to action next weekend at the Middle Tennessee Blue Raider Bash. The Lady Govs will open that tournament with a noon, Friday contest against Florida International.
