Coaches vs. Cancer Breakfast draws nearly 200 people

Austin Peay State UniversityNashville, TN – Austin Peay men’s baskeball coach Dave Loos was one of six midstate Division I basketball coaches who spoke Tuesday morning at Coaches vs. Cancer Basketball Tipoff Breakfast, held in Allen Arena on the Lipscomb campus.

Loos, Belmont’s Rick Byrd, Middle Tennessee’s Kermit Davis, Tennessee State coach John Cooper and Vanderbilt coach Kevin Stallings spoke to nearly 200 patrons about the upcoming basketball season. Radio and TV personality George Plaster served as emcee of the event.

Proceeds from the event went to the American Cancer Society.  

The American Cancer Society’s Coaches vs. Cancer program is a nationwide collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). The program empowers athletic coaches, their teams, and communities to join in the fight against cancer and help raise awareness and funds through year-round educational efforts and fundraising activities.
