Horton snagged a career-high 13 rebounds to go along with 10 points – his third career double-double – and four blocked shots in Sunday’s loss at Arkansas State. The 6-8 center now has at least two blocks in nine games this season, which has elevated him to 11th nationally in blocked shots (3.0/g).

The Decatur, GA native becomes the first OVC player since Eastern Kentucky’s Matt Witt (2002-03) to be named conference freshman of the week five straight weeks. This week, he shared the honor with Tennessee Tech’s Lanerryl Johnson, who scored 15 points off the bench in the Golden Eagles win against Milwaukee, Saturday.

Horton’s averaging 9.5 points and 7.1 rebounds through the first 10 games of his Austin Peay career. He already has 30 blocks, putting him nearly halfway to a top-10 all-time ranking – Drake Reed is currently 10th all-time with 63 blocks – less than one-third of the way through his freshman campaign.
