Clarksville, TN – Corner infielder Caitlyn Hudgins has signed a National Letter of Intent to join Austin Peay State University softball, becoming the seventh signee of the Fall 2013 class.

Batting cleanup as a junior, she hit .330 with three home runs and 10 doubles while striking out just four times. The sure-handed first baseman made just three errors in 48 games, earning Middle Tennessee Softball Coaches Associations A-AA All-Midstate honors.
“She’s going to be a big bat for us,” said head coach Stephanie Paris. “There’s definitely a lot to like offensively. We’re really excited to watch her grow as a player.”
Hudgins led Greenbrier to a TSSAA State Tournament appearance in 2013, winning District 9-AA and Region 5-AA titles along the way. She built on an all-district tournament honor from 2012 with an All-District 9-AA honor last season.
“We really feel like she’s been a hidden gem,” Paris said. “She didn’t get a lot of looks and we feel like we found someone special. A friend of mine in Nashville told me I needed to come look at her and I’m glad I did. I think she’ll be a pleasant surprise in the conference.”
The daughter of Bernie and Carri Hudgins, Caitlyn plans to major in physical therapy at Austin Peay.
