Ocala, FL – Frustrations continued for Austin Peay State University women’s golf team during Day 2, Monday, at the MSU Ocala Spring Invitational.
The Lady Govs shot a second-round 321 for a 638 total, leaving them in 15th place heading into Tuesday’s final round on the par-72, 6113-yard Juliette Falls Golf Resort layout.

Freshman Morgan Kauffman led the Lady Govs, Monday, shooting APSU’s only sub-80 round with a 79. Seniors Rachel Deaton and Tala Mumford followed with 80 and 81, respectively. Freshman Morgan Gardner also had an 81 while sophomore Jessica Cathey fired an 82.
“We need for a few of our golfers to understand better if you are having a bad day striking the ball it shouldn’t affect the rest of your game,” Robson said. “You just got to have that mindset.”
Daytona State still leads the event with a 593, three shots better than Houston Baptist. North Florida and Murray State are tied for third at 603. Another Ohio Valley Conference school, Eastern Kentucky, is fifth at 604 while host Morehead State is at 621.
“I want to see us go out there and finish strong,” Robson said. “I want us to go out there and make little better decisions.
“It also would help if we could get a few putts to drop.”
